Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub Office and the direct supervision of the Resource Management Officer and in coordination Admin/Finance Unit the incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Setup and maintain the IT equipment for the users in office.
2. Install and maintain Internet connections for Kigoma office.
3. Install and administer the security for various system and network components, including access to internet, protection against viruses, etc.
4. Provide the user support for MS Windows, and MS Office, as well as for other programs used in the office.
5. Analyze computer systems; recommend new systems and/or enhancements in the functionality of the existing systems.
6. Implement the proper backup/restore, data validation and security procedures to assure data integrity and availability.
7. Identify and support technology solutions for database related support.
8. Assist in administration of Database Server and fixing of database related problems.
9. Run Database queries and procedures
10. Assist in maintenance of systems, sub systems and modules of mission database in accordance with the needs and requirements of each program and project.
11. Provide user support, and training to use, operation, and maintenance of the databases and assist in the implementation of all auxiliary sub systems and modules.
12. Other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
• University Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Minimum 4 years’ experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, Server Administration, Networking and Desktop applications and Databases
• Knowledge in TCP/IP Networking
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN Technologies
• Experience in the following tools: MS SQL Server, C++, MS Access is a plus
• Any certification is a plus: CCNA
Experience
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in performing responsibilities.
• Previous work experience with an international organization and NGOs dealing with refugees would be a strong advantage
Languages
Fluency in English and Kiswahili is required.

Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the direct supervision of the National Migration Health Physician in coordination with the Regional Laboratory Specialist the incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the collection and processing of sputum specimens for testing in migration related health assessments.
2. Prepare specimens and arrange transport for follow-up testing as required.
3. Strictly follow all anti-fraud measures for specimen collection
4. Perform serological testing for the migration health programs including both screen and confirmatory testing
5. Carry out the sterilization processes for the laboratory reagents and waste disposal
6. Timely process of laboratory specimens and result posting, including Pre-Departure Medical Screening result posting.
7. Strictly follow all safety guidelines and instructions including the use of PPE.
8. Strictly follow all Standard Operating Procedures SOP’s for testing conducted
9. Liaise with the Regional Laboratory Specialist in order to monitor quality assurance measures for the collection and testing of all specimens according to IOM guidelines and inform supervisor of any discrepancy.
10. Maintain an electronic database for all IOM laboratory testing.
11. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by from time to time.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Techniques (Registered in Tanzania)
• Minimum of three years’ work experience in a Medical Laboratory environment
Experience
• Training and experience in TB, HIV, STDs and other communicable diseases testing
• Mature individual, able to work independently, effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels
• Tolerant individual with ability to work with migrants at all ages and from different background and with flexibility and able to work on overtime, when requested
•
• Capable of working under stressful and difficult conditions
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in performing responsibilities.
• Previous work experience with an international organization and NGOs dealing with refugees would be a strong advantage
• Proficiency in computer skills, especially in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access) and experience in working with databases and online applications
